Mealawe Rider App — Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how YAGY TECH PRIVATE LIMITED ("Mealawe", "We", "Us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the Mealawe Rider mobile application ("Rider App") as a delivery partner.
YAGY TECH PRIVATE LIMITED is a company located at 705/706, 66 High Street Square, Pan Card Club Road, Baner, Pune, Maharashtra 411045, India.
By registering as a rider and using the Rider App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Rider App.
Account & profile information — name, phone number, email address, government ID / KYC documents, bank or payout details, and vehicle details submitted during rider onboarding.
Location information — precise (GPS) and approximate location, collected while the app is in use and, when you are on an active delivery shift, in the background as well. This is used to assign nearby orders, calculate routes and delivery time, verify pickup/drop, and compute delivery incentives. You can disable location access in your device settings, but this will prevent the app's core delivery-assignment and tracking features from working.
Camera & photos — used only to capture proof-of-pickup/proof-of-delivery images when required for an order. We do not access your photo gallery except to save or upload the image you capture for this purpose.
Device & app information — device model, OS version, app version, IP address, and a push-notification token (Firebase Cloud Messaging) used to deliver order alerts and shift/incentive updates.
Communications — call/contact information when you use in-app calling to reach a customer or kitchen partner regarding an order, and any messages you exchange with Mealawe support.
Usage information — order acceptance/rejection history, delivery timestamps, shift activity, and in-app navigation events, used to operate and improve the Rider App.
How We Use Your Information
To assign, track, and complete deliveries, including matching you to nearby orders and sharing your live location with the customer and kitchen partner for the duration of an active order.
To verify your identity and eligibility to work as a delivery partner (KYC/onboarding checks).
To calculate payouts, incentives, and shift-based earnings.
To send order, shift, and account notifications via push notification, SMS, or call.
To provide customer/rider support and investigate complaints, fraud, or safety issues.
To maintain the security, integrity, and performance of the Rider App.
To comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations.
The Rider App collects location data in the background while you are on an active delivery shift, even when the app is closed or not in use, in order to continuously share your live position for order tracking, route optimization, and delivery-time/incentive calculation. Background location collection stops when you end your shift or log out. You can revoke background location permission at any time from your device's app settings, though doing so will disable live tracking while the app is not in the foreground.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information -
With customers and kitchen partners, limited to your name, photo, contact number, vehicle details, and live location, strictly for the purpose of completing an active order.
With service providers who help us operate the Rider App, such as cloud hosting, push-notification (Firebase), maps/routing, and payment-processing providers, solely to perform services on our behalf.
With government authorities or law enforcement, if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Mealawe, our riders, customers, or the public.
In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, subject to the acquiring party honoring this Privacy Policy.
Data Retention & Security
We retain rider account, delivery, and payout records for as long as your account is active and thereafter for as long as needed to comply with our legal, tax, and accounting obligations. We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including encrypted transmission, to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
You may review and update your profile information from within the Rider App.
You may withdraw camera, location, or notification permissions from your device settings at any time, subject to the functional limitations described above.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal and operational recordkeeping obligations, by contacting us using the details below.
The Rider App is intended for use by riders who are at least 18 years of age and are onboarded as delivery partners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified within the Rider App or by other reasonable means. Continued use of the Rider App after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
